Donatas, who creates furniture from wood: “Sustainability is harmony with oneself”
In the program “Švarūs miestai” – a conversation with sustainable creator Donatas. He constructs furniture from wood, which is not only functional, but also gives environment exceptional beauty.
The idea to create furniture to Donatas came quite unexpectedly – while planning to open a fast food restaurant in Kaunas.
“I had made wooden tables for him. After a while, I went to Spain and there I met a friend who owns an art gallery. We talked, I offered him those tables and that’s how everything developed further,” he said in the program “Švarūs miestai”. Donatas is self-taught. Many of the forms are dictated to him by the wood itself and its shapes.
