Pink Panther

NR. 001

This work is a two-way visual story, in which both sides seem to talk to each other, and at the same time to the viewer. On one side – a bright, graffiti-style image of a pink panther with the inscription “Success” and dollar signs, conveying a synthesis of capitalist desires, pop culture and sarcasm. It is a brutal irony, embedded in heavy, raw concrete – a reminder that even industrial materials can become a platform for cultural commentary.

On the other side – a softer, but emotionally charged drawing: two simplified, almost childlike naive silhouettes, one of which extends its hand as if seeking connection. Their love – indefinite, formless, boundless. It is an expression of the inner world, contrasting with the aforementioned external symbolism of success.

The technical composition further strengthens this opposition. A heavy, textured concrete slab acts as a brutalist foundation that stands firm, with a clear material force. On top of it is mounted a lightweight, almost invisible glass – a contemporary design detail that creates a balance between brutality and elegance. Transparency, grace and subtlety merge with a raw, rough base – a perfect example of how an industrial object can transform into an expressive, functional work of art.

Not waste – but opportunity. This is an object that invites us to rethink the boundaries of materiality, emotional symbols and what we consider “value” through design and art.
