Duality
NR. 013
This coffee table is based on two different fragments of the city pavement. One side is a tile painted with children’s playful drawings, full of color and naivety. The other is contrastingly monochrome, decorated with black graffiti strokes, reminiscent of urban shadows. It is a visual map of duality and contrasts: between childhood and adulthood, chaos and order, light and darkness. The glass surface on top connects these two poles into a single whole – like the city’s existence between two extremes. The glass surface is naturally cracked, found among discarded materials. It does not hide its imperfection – on the contrary, its shape reinforces the general idea of the object. The crack becomes a kind of moment of transition, like a visual fracture between two realities, connecting different emotions of the city into one common surface.
